Effective October 29, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Block Space collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you visit the website, create an account, post a listing, send a message or proposal, leave a review, advertise, or contact support.
2. Information you provide
- Account data: email address, name, role, password hash, verification status, and profile settings.
- Profile and listing data: photo, location, skills, business details, biography, portfolio links, listing text, contact details, photos, pricing or budget information.
- Marketplace activity: proposals, messages, work-order status, member-provided payment confirmation, reviews, saved listings, reports, blocks, and notification preferences.
- Commercial and support data: advertising enquiries, support messages, and transaction references for optional paid products.
Do not submit sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for a listing or transaction. Public profiles and listings should use an approximate service area or public location, not a private home address.
3. Information collected automatically
We and our hosting or security providers may process IP address, browser and device information, request timestamps, referring pages, error logs, and security signals. The site also uses browser storage for sessions, theme, saved listings, and interface state. We use this information to operate the service, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and understand basic feature use.
4. Public information
Published listings and public profile fields can be viewed by anyone and may be indexed by search engines. Public profile responses do not display your account email or internal account identifier. Reviews display the reviewer's public name, rating, review text, and date. Messages, account settings, and safety reports are not public.
5. How information is used
- Provide accounts, profiles, listings, search, messaging, proposals, reviews, and account controls.
- Send verification, password-reset, marketplace, safety, support, and service emails.
- Review reports, enforce rules, prevent fraud and abuse, and secure the service.
- Process optional advertising or listing add-on requests and keep transaction records.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, measure, and improve Block Space.
- Comply with law and protect rights, safety, and property.
6. When information is shared
Information may be shared with vendors that provide hosting, database, storage, email delivery, authentication, payment processing for optional platform products, monitoring, or support. These providers process information for their services and under their own terms or our instructions. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse or protect safety, in connection with a business transfer, or with your direction.
When you contact or transact with another member, you choose what information to share with that member. Block Space does not control how another member uses information you give them outside the service.
7. Email and notification choices
Account-critical messages such as verification, password reset, security, legal, and safety notices may be sent when necessary. You can disable marketplace email notifications from Dashboard Settings. You can also mark dashboard notifications as read; that state is synced to your account.
8. Retention
We keep account and marketplace data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can download an export and request permanent deletion from Dashboard Settings. Some limited records may be retained when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, legal obligations, chargeback or dispute handling, or enforcement. Backup copies may persist for a limited recovery period.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including hashed passwords, signed sessions, access controls, and transport encryption. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Use a unique password and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
10. Your choices and rights
You may update your profile, manage notifications, block another member, download your data, or delete your account from the dashboard. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. To make a privacy request, email us from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity.
11. Children and international use
Block Space is intended for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect account information from children. Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live; those countries may have different data protection rules.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date will show the latest version, and additional notice will be provided when required. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to blockspaceadmin@gmail.com.
